France – 2025 Apprenticeship public subsidies

What’s changing in 2025?

Starting February 24, 2025, the subsidies for hiring apprentices have been reduced to :
–       €6,000 – For hiring apprentices with disabilities (regardless of company size)
–       €5,000 – For companies with fewer than 250 employees
–       €2,000 – For companies with 250 or more employees (subject to hiring commitments)

Key facts:

–       Aid applies to contracts signed between Feb 24, 2025 – Dec 31, 2025
–       Only for the first year of the contract
–       Covers diplomas up to Master’s level (Bac +5)

Social contribution update:
From March 1, 2025, the social security contribution exemption threshold for apprentices will drop to 50% of the minimum wage (SMIC), down from 79%.

Special support for hiring disabled apprentices:
Up to €3,000 in additional aid from Agefiph for private sector employers.

Make sure to file your contract with the relevant OPCO within 6 months to secure this support.
